Are you searching for someone to take care of your children between the ages 1-14? Caritas offers a number of facilities in Carinthia in which your children are taken care of and where they get help with studying.

Unfortunately, we can only offer you detailed information on the individual institutions in German.

In our Lerncafés, children and teenagers between the age 6 and 15 receive free afternoon care, which contains help with studying, doing the homework and appropriate leisure time activities.

The “Lerncafé” is a free if you do not have enough money for private tuition, for children whose living environment is unsuitable for learning and also for children, whose knowledge of the German language is not yet good enough for a successful school certificate.

All of our employees are professionally trained. There is also a huge number of volunteers who help your children studying for tests or doing the homework.

What does the Lerncafé offer?

• Help with homework
• Preparation for tests
• Revising what the children learned during class
• Learning how to learn: getting to know different learning techniques
• Reading
• Healthy snacks
• Playing games and having fun
• Excursions: visiting museums, playgrounds, going for a walk in the forest/nature,…

Requirements for the admission in a Lerncafé:

• Interview
• Regular participation (three out of four afternoons a week)
• The child’s desire to learn
• Group ability
• The demand of educational support for your child
